Outfit of the Day

Outfit of the Day (or #OOTD if you’re on Twitter/Instagram/Pinterest) is one of my favorite trends/hashtags to follow on social media. It provides all sorts of inspiration. While some of the “outfits” are not exactly my style, it gets me thinking of new ways to wear the things in my closet that are currently just taking up space.

One of the first times I was really inspired was when one of my favorite fashion bloggers, Sydne Summer, posted this about turning a shirt around that normally buttons all the way down the back so that it turns into a little jacket or a layering top. I had two shirts just like this, and since I was 6 months pregnant with my second baby in less than a year, neither of those tops fit when I wore them the right way. So this was perfect for me and became a staple in my wardrobe through the remainder of my pregnancy. And it taught me an important lesson: Everything in my closet can be re-purposed. Suddenly I had way more clothing than I thought!

Plus, with the addition of a fabulous accessory wardrobe (I truly love Stella & Dot, don’t cha know?)…I feel like I never need to shop for new clothes! My jewelry changes my look for me. That’s not to say that I don’t shop for new clothes…or for a lot of jewelry…

Have you been inspired recently with anything you’ve seen online (or in magazines, on TV, etc)? I have a whole host of fashion bloggers that I follow that inspire me daily!

Happy inspiration!
