DIY

Sometimes inspiration strikes when you least expect it.

I was browsing my twitter feed the other evening when I came across a tweet by a fellow Stella & Dot stylist that had her wearing the Fiona necklace, but much longer than I thought it could be worn. When I tweeted her (do you know how weird it is to write out the words ‘twitter,’ ‘tweet,’ and ‘tweeted’ in a sentence?), complimenting her look and inquiring about it, she told me the most amazing thing.

She said, “I just used my Christina Link bracelet as an extender for the necklace.”

Oh my god. That’s just pure genious. Plus I prefer necklaces that hang a little lower so even though I adore the Fiona as she was originally intended, this really was a game-changer for me. I’m not even joking.

Here’s the Fiona, in all her glory. From short to medium to LONG. Oh, and a little arm candy thrown in, just for fun.

I hope I have adequately explained what a monumental experience this was for me. Do you know what my big conundrum is now? Should I get another Christina Link bracelet? I love it so much, just as a bracelet, and literally wore it EVERY time I wore gold accessories. Ahhhhhh, the decisions…

Have you ever “repurposed” a piece of jewelry to better fit your needs? If so, how? I’m now feeling very crafty…even though I didn’t do anything remotely close to a craft.

Happy DIY-ing!
